Ridley Bicycles was founded in 1990. Through innovative technical and graphic design, Ridley quickly became the leading manufacturer in Belgium. In the early years, Ridley became known for supporting local grass roots teams and riders in Belgium, including a young Tom Boonen when he won the Belgian U23 championship in 2001.

Ridley has since become the leader in cyclocross, Belgium's national sport. Four of the last five world champion winners have ridden Ridley bicycles. In 2006 in Zeddam, the Netherlands, Ridley scored a one-two finish with Erwin Vervecken and Bart Wellens, and also the U23 championship with Zdenek Stybar. In 2003 Ridley released its first full carbon road frame, the Damocles, which has since gone on to win countless victories in grand tours, spring classics, and more with ProTour team Davitamon-Lotto.
